Applique is one of the methods to decorate a surface of the garment. Throughout the first year in the college in my spare time I was made a few appliqués not even thinking to use in my projects. But I realised that they might be very useful then this project came up.

I made a three star appliqués using a double layerd fabric: polyester felt and silk jersey, I used two layers because it’s easier and more secure to stitch. For the stitched edge I used an embroidery thread in various colours and stitched by hand in a slip stitch.On my sketchbook page I explained what I used to make these appliqués, and linked to my theme and inspiration.

This surface decoration method is very enjoyable and relaxing then making, and is very time consuming. I’m very pleased with the outcome of the stars wich is one of my inspirations.
