For my designer research title page I created a mini samples of dresses to reflect a chosen collections. I’m very happy and pleased with the outcome of this page. To be honest I did designer research first, and this page after and it was very sudden idea of making it this title page.

Valentino is my first of the chosen designers. Beautiful embellishments and flowing fabrics caught my eye then searching for designer. And I made a small samples of embellishments to accompany the research.

The same Valentino but the different collection Fall/Winter 2013, playful and scalloped edge short dresses from the collection. I picked these dresses from huge collection because of the scalloped edges, round shaped edges reminded me of the seashell shape which is my inspiration.

Chanel is my second designer for this task. I picked this collection for the same reason- ocean theme. I really like the freshness feeling, fresh, white, coral, mother of pearl and silver colours. The collection colour palette inspired me and determined my chose of colours for my final garment.Along with the research I attached some trims, embellishments and small samples of fabric manipulation to reflect the theme and my inspiration.

The third designer is Alexander McQueen and his ocean themed collection.  The inspiring details of the collection is layers of ruffles and frills and gathers. I attached  a small samples of ruffles and gathers to reflect a theme and at the same time to accompany my fabric manipulation task.

And the final piece of the task is Comparison of the designers. I explained why I chose these designers, what inspired me and listed the details of the collections. I’m pleased with the outcome of this task, especially with mini samples of it.
